The World Breastfeeding Week 2014 is this week, between Aug 1-7.

The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action WABA has announced the slogan and theme for WBW 2014:

BREASTFEEDING: A Winning Goal – For Life!

This year’s WABA World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) theme asserts the importance of increasing and sustaining the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding – in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) countdown and beyond. We call on all celebrants of WBW to Protect, Promote and Support Breastfeeding: it is a vital Life-Saving Goal!

Haarlem Breastfeeding Mommies!

One of our Team photographers, Alex Chalkley, had an idea in her head for a while now to create a beautiful collection of portraits of breastfeeding that highlights the special connection and relationship between baby and mama.

To celebrate this week and breastfeeding in general, today from 2 – 8 pm she likes to welcome all breastfeeding mommies to see her in Haarlem for a free breastfeeding portrait if you are interested in participating!

There can be some time slots, so shoot her an e-mail via alex@alexchalkley before popping by. Alex might hold a second edition later this month: if you can’t make it today, get in touch with her.
