We meet in front of the Den Haag Central station, meeting point “Zebra watch” (see picture of the watch). 

From there we will visit main high lights of the city: 
– Plein – The Square is situated in the heart of the Hague near the Binnenhof (Government and Parliament). It is surrounded by important historical town houses and is known for its many restaurants. 

– The Mauritshuis – Is an art museum in The Hague in the Netherlands and is also a beautiful historical building, built in 1631. 

– Binnenhof – The inner court is a square in the Centre of the Hague, with the Hall of Knights in the Middle surrounded by parliamentary and Government buildings. Built primarily in the 13th century, the Gothic castle originally functioned as residence of the counts of Holland and became the political centre of the Dutch Republic in 1584. It is counted among the Top 100 Dutch heritage sites. The Binnenhof is the eldest Houses of Parliament in the world and that’s still in use.

– Royal Palace (Noordeinde Palace) – The Palace is the Dutch Monarch’s workplace and office for all political and stately affairs.

– Peace palace -The Peace Palace (Dutch: Vredespaleis) is an administrative building in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is often called the seat of international law because it houses the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations). The idea of the Palace started from a discussion in 1900 between the Russian and the US diplomat over providing a home for the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), which was established through the first Hague Peace Conference in 1899. The Palace officially opened on 28 August 1913. (optional, it is about 15 minutes’ walk from the center, depending on time and people’s tiredness)

We will see many other beautiful historical buildings on the way and we will have lunch or drinks in the middle of the walk, or at the end as we decide. If anyone has good suggestions we can be flexible with the proposed route. The mentioned points are just highlights, there are plenty more in between. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

The photo walk is free of charge, you only have to pay for your own food and drinks and have a good time! 🙂 Main goal is to get more often together and to get to know each other, to share information, talk, exchange tips and ideas and afterwards to see each others shots, which we will upload to the meetup page. Any skill level and devices are welcomed! There are no limits for the number of people, but the minimum of 3 people is needed to go ahead with the photo walk. This is not a completion, but it is always nice to see the pictures of other people and share your own. We each see the world in such different ways, it’s great to share!

We will run a mini photo contest to recognize the most interesting photo of that day. The conditions are very simple, upload your photos (maximum 10) within 7 days after the photo walk. In the next 7 days everyone can vote for the pictures they find interesting by adding +1 in the comments, except your own and one vote for a photo from another person. The picture that will receive the highest number of votes will be announced as winner. Please feel free to ask any questions!
