Flower Parade Bollenstreek 2015

Flower Parade Bollenstreek

The Bloemencorso Bollenstreek, or Flower Parade of the Bollenstreek (Bulbs Area) is one of the most famous parades in the world. More than a million people come to see the beautiful flower praalwagens (floats). The Flower Parade Bollenstreek is the only parade that is built with bulb flowers such as hyacinths, tulips and daffodils.

The Bloemencorso drives every year a 40 kilometer route from Noordwijk, through Voorhout, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede to Haarlem, only 20 km. from Amsterdam and Leiden.

This year the Parade will ride for the 68th time this weekend, on the the 24th  and 25th of April.

The colourful procession of flower-decorated floats will start at 9:30 pm from the boulevard in Noordwijk to the center of Haarlem, where the illuminated parade will arrive at 20.35h. Thousands of bright blooms of various locally-grown flowers become decorations on several gigantic floats and more than 30 flower-decorated luxury cars. The procession is accompanied by music bands. And by the Bloemenmeisjes (Flower Girls) of course.

The theme of this year is: “200 years Kingdom”.

A splendour which you should see.

You cannot see the Flower Parade on Saturday?  On April 26th all floats can be admired at the market square in Haarlem. Along the displayed flower floats there is often plenty to do/see for adults and kids: stalls, stages, acrobats, magicians….

We warmly welcome you at one of the events during the Flower Parade week in the bulb-growing area.
