Rineke Dijkstra | 17th Century Portraits, until 28 september in Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem
The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem shows a marvellous exhibition: Rineke Dijkstra | 17th Century Portraits, focusing on the interesting dialogue between the portraiture style found in Golden Age paintings and the contemporary works of photographer Rineke Dijkstra.
Inspired by the Dutch Golden Age painting Rineke Dijkstra created her unique collection of photographs called Conversation Pieces. She photographed her models in the seventeenth-century ambiance gaining by this very interesting results.

Masters of Photography by National Geographic, until 19 October 2014 in Tropical Museum in Amsterdam
Who does not know the picture of the Afghan girl with penetrating glance? It is world famous picture of Steve McCurry; also known as “the Mona Lisa of photography. Like this picture, there are numerous other photos that have been under the banner of National Geographic. The work of 10 great photographers is exhibited in the Tropical Museum in Amsterdam. Frans Lanting, Steve McCurry, David Doubilet, Michael Yamashita, Joel Sartore, Jodi Cobb, Michael Nichols, Chris Johns, Annie Griffiths en Paul Nicklen. A selection of photo’s that only can bring astonishment, compelling and admiration on the surface of every viewer.
